- Officially founded as a joint venture between Georgian and U.S. investors.
- Opened the Business School and Law School under leadership of R.?Michael?Cowgill as University President.
2011–2012
- Added International Relations and Diplomacy → School renamed Law & Social Sciences.
- Opened Natural Sciences & Engineering School.
2012–2013
- Moved into a new 6,000?m² campus at 10?Merab Aleksidze Street (later Vakhtang Chabukiani St.) featuring classrooms, library, labs, café, gym, auditorium.
2013–2014
- Established the School of Liberal Education & Humanities.
- GAU now includes 5 schools offering ~19 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs.
2014–2016
- Launched the Medical School with a 6?year MD program (360?ECTS) in English.
- Curriculum aligns with WFME standards, supports lifelong learning.
- Recognized by WHO, MCI/NMC (India), and listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
2016–2018
- Expanded research and practical training facilities.
- Introduced legal clinic, GeoLab IT lab, Quantitative Finance unit, and Ombudsman Office.
- Adopted Bologna Process academic framework.
