What is PTE Exam?
The PTE Exam is a Computer-Based Test that assesses the candidate's listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills in English. PTE stands for the Pearson Test of English. The PTE score is accepted by 6,000 academic colleges/universities across the world including top-notch colleges like Yale and London Business school. Those students and aspirants who desire to go abroad for studying or immigration to a major English speaking country are required to take the PTE Academic exam to prove their English language competency.
PTE Exam is conducted in over 200 locations all over the world. This exam is conducted 360 days a year in different test sessions.
Types of PTE
There are 3 different tests in PTE Exam- PTE General, PTE Academic, and PTE for Young Learners.
PTE Academic
The PTE Academic exam is conducted throughout the year for those who have plans to study and get admission to a university or institution or move abroad. The exam comprises four sections - writing, reading, listening and speaking. Candidates can use the score of the PTE Academic exam which is valid for two years. The test will assess using various accents from British and American to non-native speakers.
PTE General
The PTE General exam is always conducted 3 times a year in May, June, and December. The PTE General exam comprises 2 papers – a spoken test and a written paper. The PTE General exam scores are valid for the entire life and are used to test the realistic communication skills of the candidate.
PTE for Young Learners
The PTE Young Learners is an interactive English language assessment exam for students/candidates aged 6 to 13. The exam is hosted by Edexcel Online system.
