Candidates should be aware of the minimal GMAT qualifying requirements before registering for the exam. The following criteria must be met in order to take the GMAT:

• Applicants must possess a minimum educational qualification from a recognised institution or college.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years old; if a candidate is under the age of 18, a no-objection certificate from a parent or guardian is required.
• To take the GMAT, an applicant must have a valid passport.
• Applicants can only take the GMAT five times each year and eight times in their lifetime.
• Candidates can only take the GMAT after 16 days have passed since the previous exam.
• Although there is no formal requirement for job experience, leading business schools around the world prefer it.
