Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences was started during 2005 in 25 acres of land, The total floor area available, including College, Boys Hostel and Girls Hostels, Doctors quarters, are available with comfortable accommodation and needed services. The Teaching Hospital of the Medical College, The Government Mc. Gann Hospital constructed by British Administrator during 1880 in 70 acres. The Shimoga Institute of Medical Science is fully equipped Laboratories, Auditorium, Museums, Lecture Halls, Gymnasium, Common Rooms. Examination Hall with 800sqm. and 300 capacity Here are 398 well educated and good experienced teaching faculties available.

Hostel Fees
Boys Hostel and Girls Hostels, Doctors quarters, about 34488 square meters. With needed services and comfortable accommodation facilities. Boys hostel has 165 rooms and girls hostel has 165 rooms. The Hostel is Divide as Separately for the Under Graduate and Post Graduate Students. The Hostel is attached Mess with Dining Hall Facility. It provides Clean and Healthy – Nutritious Food for both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Students and also this Hostel includes R.O Purified Drinking Water facility, Daily Newspaper in English & Kannada, with Recreation Hall and Prayer Hall along with a Separate Visitors Hall.
