• Pramukhswami Medical College, Karmsad Admission 2024
  Pramukhswami Medical College (PSMC) was established in 1987 and is affiliated with the Sardar Patel University. It has been accorded recognition by the Medical Council of India (MCI). It admits 150 students every year for a five-and-a-half-year course (including one year of compulsory internship) culminating in a Bachelor of Medicine degree and a Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. It also offers Post Graduate Courses in eighteen broad specialties, with a total intake of 49 Degree (MD/MS) seats and 21 Post Graduate Diploma seats. PSMC differs from other medical colleges in the way the curriculum is designed. It lays more emphasis on integrated teaching and learning, thereby ensuring that the information given is neither fragmented nor repetitive but is complete and thorough in every way. Clinical exposure from day one, Village Stay Program, and Fitness Program are other unique features of our college. Emphasis is also given to the overall development of the students. They are provided opportunities to participate in sports at University, State, and National levels. Students are given enough exposure to cultural activities including literary activities. Our Under Graduate and Post Graduate students regularly participate in National and International conferences and have received awards for their papers. PSMC has experienced and dedicated faculty. More than 500 original research papers have been published in reputed scientific journals in India and abroad.

  Students admitted would be covered under a suitable scheme of “Krupa Arogya Suraksha” for hospitalization at the Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad for a coverage of Rs. 5,000/- per annum. Shared accommodation at the hostels on campus is provided to limited students on a payment basis. Admission to the course does not, however, guarantee hostel accommodation. Apart from a Mess at the UG & PG hostels, there are three other joints that offer a variety of food to the students. The Surabhi Restaurant offers breakfast to dinner with tastes that suit the Indian palate at a reasonable rate. If one wants to enjoy snacks and ice cream, in the sunshine with lush green lawns around, there is Mother Dairy parlor which is open till midnight. For those who like to watch their weight and figures, there is a cafeteria at the Students’ Activity Centre which offers fat-free fare and high protein shakes, etc. Central Internet facilities are made available to all the students at the college Library on payment of nominal charges. The campus houses a temple, medical book shop, Oriental Bank of Commerce with ATM, Axis Bank ATM, photocopying and binding facilities, and provisional stores, besides a safe, secure ragging-free campus, conducive for the teaching-learning process. The campus and infrastructure are one of their kind in the state of Gujarat.

  There is a big campus for a medical technologist in Shree Krishna hospital who takes the student from their own institute which is Pramukh Swami medical college and l.p. Patel Institute of a medical lab technician. so students get easy jobs and placement in their own environment. The internship is one of the best periods in medical life and we did enjoy the same with our duties. We learned many new things which we had observed in our clinics and thanks to our faculties for giving us such an opportunity to learn newer clinical skills which we still remember today after a lapse of 15 years. Though stipend was given by govt as 1100 rupees but enough for considering the economy of that year.
