About Us

1916 – Established under the name People’s University of Russia. However, later earned the status of State University

1930 – Established six institutes: Medical, Agriculture, Chemical, Teachers’ Training, Mechanical Engineering and Construction.

Mid 20th century – Grew as the research and educational hub.

1945 – Faculty of Radiophysics started and it was first in the USSR.

1963 – Established Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, which was first in Russia.

1998 – Research and Education Centre for Physics of Solid-State Nanostructures was established with special laboratory equipment.

1999 – UNN Typhloinformation Centre opened, first specialized computer centre for visually impaired people in Russia.

2005 – Admissions started for International Students from 75+ countries.

2007 – Established Nanotechnologies Research and Education Centre.

2009 – Russian Government awarded it National Research University status.

2012 – Established Research Institute of Living Systems.
