  Vardhman Institute of Medical sciences, A Government Medical College, is situated in a serine and tranquil environment, Pawapuri, a place known far wide for its scenic beauty, abundance of Jain shrines, a holy place of pilgrimage for Jainism sect, the sanctum sanctorum “Jal Mandir” is located at approximate 100 KM south east from capital town Patna, well linked by road and rail. VIMS is a state of Art Medical College & Hospital spreading at an sprawling area of 52.515 Acres of land . The first academic session of the college started in 2013-14 with admission of 95 students in 1st year MBBS course, the existing capacity is 100 students per year. The College has Girls Hostel, Boys Hostel, Doctors Hostel, Intern Hostel, Nurses Hostel all G + 5 type , a community block , Student recreation centre, a modern air conditioned Auditorium apart from Faculty and Non-teaching staff accommodation with lift facilities.   Vardhaman Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), Pawapuri is a newly formed medical college established in the year 2011. It is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and is affiliated to the Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna. VIMS Nalanda offers UG & PG courses in the field of medical sciences. It also offers paramedical programs across 5 specializations. The institute has excellent infrastructure ideal for the students visualizing career in medical stream.

  There are internships required for undergraduate courses, however the requirement is not there for the M.D. course. The university can offer contacts with the industry, however, it is up to the students and what they want to pursue. Some might be interested in research and others may not.
