  Nalanda Medical College was established in 1970, it is located in Kankarbagh, Patna, Bihar. The college is affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna and it is also recognized by the Medical Council of India. The institute offers an MBBS course for UG students, MD/ MS courses in 15 different specializations for PG students, and Para Medical courses in 4 different specializations. Admission to different courses is based on the marks obtained by the candidate in the NEET/ NEET-PG examination.

  In the year 1970 Nalanda Medical College was established by Dr. Vijay Narayain Singh,(MS. F.R.C.S) Dr. Madhusudan Das (MR Ch) & Dr. Shailendra Kumar Sinha,(MS. F.R.C.S) along with Shri Krishna Kant Singh, the ex education minister of Bihar, with an idea to produce bright & young doctors to serve the suffering humanity. The classes started from 2nd April 1970 under the principalship of Dr. Shailendra Kumar Sinha,(MS. F.R.C.S) In the beginning 150 students were taking admission. In the year 1978 it was taken over by Govt. of Bihar and was recognized by Medical Council of India. The Student intake was reduced to 50 and was selected by various state and central govt. competitive examination In the journey of four decades, the College as well as the Hospital has developed immense potential and Doctors from NMCH are serving not only in India but abroad as well. The College is situated on Kankarbagh old Bye pass road. The department of anatomy, physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, PSM, FMT & Pharmacology is situated here. Nalanda Medical College has 3 Hostels. 2 hostels are for boys and 1 hostel is for girls. These hostels have adequate capacity, as well as facilities like mesh and proper security is also available.

  The faculty is very good and most importantly they are very supportive. They guide u whenever in any matter I need as an ur parent. It's a highly subsidized College. For UG course fee is around 10000 per year with added hostel fee of 4800 annually. For PG it is 5000 per year and the hostel facility is free for the resident doctors. Mess charges are based on your bill monthly which is roughly 2500 per month.

  Students are always offered jobs from leading medical colleges and Hospitals in Patna and nearby cities with handsome salaries. The government of Bihar also does recruitment on large scales for general and specialized doctors from our college. Some students even opt to go abroad by qualifying examinations like USMLE and PLAB. Our teachers help us a lot to get the job that suits our personality and lifestyle. They always have a session where they make us aware of the tough situations in the professional life coming ahead. I have never seen any of my colleagues unemployed in the last 6 yrs. They either join the Bihar govt health department as a general or specialized doctor or join private hospitals. So I would say it have an almost 100% placement rate.
