The P.E.S. Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is the first and only medical college in the town of Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 2003. It was inaugurated by the then President Dr. A. P. J.

PESIMSR, Kuppam, established on 11th of September 2001. PESIMSR is a well established Medical College with an attached Hospital containing state-of-the-art facilities providing wonderful work experience and training opportunities. The risk factors associated with changing lifestyle have increased the mortality rate because of coronary heart diseases, diabetes, hypertension and neurological disorders. PES Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is the right step in this direction that reflects the care, concern and assurance of the PES GROUP for the societal well-being. The college is allied to the NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and is recognized by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi. The M.B.B.S course is ruled by the regulations of the NTR University of Health Sciences. The academic progress of the students is considered through regular internal assessments and examinations in theory, practical and clinical at the end of every semester. The successful students have to compulsorily undertake one year revolving internship in various departments before they are registered as qualified physicians.

PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research have Central Library that Layout and floor area occupies 2600 Sq.m with Centralized Air Condition. Separate Reading Rooms for UG Departments two Rooms , One For PG Departments and One for Faculty. Every Room having both Inside and Outside 200 Seating Capacity Available. Working Hours Morning 8 am to 12 pm. Total Number of books available is 18186. In that Text book is 10956 and the Reference book is 7230. Total Number of Journals Subscribed is 227, Indian Journal is 112 and Foreign Journal is 115.

Hostel Fees
PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research having separate Hostel for both boys and girls inside the College Campus and the distance from the college to hospital is within the campus below 200 meters. Total number of Students staying in the Hostel is around 800. Single occupancy and double occupancy rooms are available as per Students Wish. Messing and Canteen arrangement like Dining hall should have accommodation for 25% of the residents at a given time. Visitors Rooms are available with Facilities like TV and Indoor Games.
