About Us

Goa Medical College, founded by the Portuguese in 1842, is one of the oldest medical colleges in India. The college offers UG and PG programs in 19 specializations, a Diploma in 8 specializations, and Allied Health Courses such as Bachelor in Physiotherapy, Bachelor in Occupational Therapy, Bachelor in Optometry, B.Sc in Medical Imaging Technology and Anaesthesia Technology. Admission to UG and PG courses is through NEET UG & NEET PG scores. Application forms for admission are available on the official website of DTE, Goa, and can also be delivered offline. The minimum eligibility for MBBS is 10 + 2 with a minimum of 50% marks in PCB / Biotech combined.

There is a compulsory internship for one year after completing the MBBS program (in all medical colleges) wherein students are posted in all the departments for a variable duration for practical experience. The stipend is around 20,000 per month as an intern.

Goa government medical college is located in Panaji City in the state of Goa. The Goa medical college academic buildings are spread over 18,919 sq.mts. Hostels and residential complex are spread over 21,401 sq. mt for both boys and girls students, library, auditorium, exam halls, lecture halls, mess & canteens, and so on. The hospital buildings are spread over with 23,317 sq.mts. The facilities available on the college campus are one auditorium and two examination halls with an area of 2,400 sq.mts. It has a 570 seating capacity. It has been equipped with all kinds of facilities like CCTV, audio-visual aids, computer with internet-connected facilities. There are 5 lecture halls available in the hospital building with seating capacity, 1 separate common room is available for both boys and girls with an area of 300 sq. mt.
