  Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy is a private university established in 1992 by Late Dr. Petre Shotadze, a renowned physician and paediatric surgeon.

  1999: Established with the aim of providing high-quality medical education in Georgia.

  2000: MD program launched with a batch of 50 students. 

  2001: First affiliation with Tbilisi Central Hospital for hands-on clinical training.

  2002: 1st postgraduate program in medicine introduced.

  2003: Partnering with several international universities**, like Oxford & Cambridge.

  2005: Introduced English-language program in medicine for international students.

  2006: Inaugurated its biomedical research and innovation centre.

  2007: Introduced doctoral program in medicine for various medical specialties.

  2008: Launched dental program.

  2010: Introduced master's program in healthcare management.

  2011: Established a simulation centre, to provide hands-on training.

  2012: Started distance learning course.

  2015: Instituted the department of public health for offering public health and healthcare management programs.

  2017: Introduced dual degrees in medicine and healthcare management.
