Shree Bharatimaiya College of Optometry & Physiotherapy is currently offering Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T) course since Academic Year 2014-15. Granted intake capacity is 50 seats. Course duration is 4 ½ years, that includes 6 months of compulsory rotatory internship. Physical therapy or physiotherapy (often abbreviated to PT) is a Rehabilitation profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention carried out by physiotherapists using a wide range of treatment techniques and approaches viz., mobilization and therapeutic exercise, manual therapy techniques, massage, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and other allied therapeutic techniques tailored to specific condition. In addition to clinical practice, other activities encompassed in the physiotherapy profession include research, education, consultation, and administration. Physiotherapy intervention has many specialties including orthopaedic, neurology, cardiopulmonary, sports rehabilitation, pediatrics, geriatrics, head injuries, post operative rehabilitation and wound care. Physiotherapist practice in many settings, such as outpatient clinics, health and wellness clinics, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, extended care facilities, multispecialty clinics or hospitals, community and home based rehabilitation, education, research centers and sports training facilities. Shree Bharatimaiya College of Optometry & Physiotherapy enables shaping of the students to become successful Physiotherapists and thereby helping the patients to recover faster. Our institute is approved by Government of Gujarat, affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat and is recognized by the I.A.P (The Indian Association of Physiotherapists) and GSCPT(Gujarat State Council of Physiotherapist).
