MBBS at Armed Forces Medical College An opportunity to serve.....
Apr 01st,2026
Cognitive Dissonance. That’s what Internal Conflict is called. Why not simplify it with a practical example?

Think of those Science students who have just finished their Class 12 board exams. Enjoying their favourite street Chinese while scrolling through their phones when they get interrupted with an Instagram notification stating that India has faced a terrorist attack. There are images of injured civilians, soldiers performing operations, hospitals under pressure.
Rage of anger on seeing the world losing humanity every day makes them question, “I want to serve my country but am I less patriotic if I don’t join the forces?”

Practically - Defense forces use weapons - guns, missiles and bombs.
Morally - Violence feels wrong even when it is for protection.

These clashing beliefs are what Cognitive Dissonance is.

Relax ! No need to pick up a weapon. There are smarter and calmer ways to serve the nation.

The Indian Armed Forces offer more than just combat roles. You can still save the lives of your country's people without going on battles. Wondering How ?
